Why support the Treatment Advocacy Center?

TAC is a different kind of advocacy organization.

We are efficient. Charity Navigator rated TAC 4 stars - its highest rating - for organizational efficiency, so you know your money will be spent on our mission.

We are effective. Since TAC was formed, treatment laws have been reformed in 17 states, and our successful advocacy has changed the tenor of the debate in newspapers and in legislators

We are experts. In a world of generalists, TAC has deep expertise on the consequences of nontreatment, the risk of violence, the need for and most effective means of delivering mandated treatment.

We are loud. You can hear our spokespeople and messages in news media like NPR, XM Satellite Radio, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. This year, we have already reached an estimated 78.5 million readers and listeners.

We are independent. Since we first opened our doors, we have refused any funding from pharmaceutical companies.

We are truly results focused. We believe that the work we do is not an academic exercise. The final goal of all the changes we work to enact is to secure lifesaving treatment for people with severe mental illnesses.

Our existence depends on the support of those who share our vision of humane mental illness treatment laws, policies and practices throughout America.

Our existence depends on you.

Please join us.
