A FIRST STEP WELL TAKEN
AB1800 and LPS reform were approved yesterday (Tuesday) in the Health Committee by a promising 10-0 margin. We have won our first contest! We still have long to go, but we are on the way to helping establish laws in California that value treatment over sickness.
Thanks to everyone who visited their representatives, wrote letters and made phone calls. We know that your efforts made a difference.
However, we must not rest on our laurels. AB1800 has more steps to take and it must win at every stage to become the law in California.
NEXT UPTHE JUDICIARY COMMITTTEE
We are not sure of the exact date, but AB1800 should be considered by the Judiciary Committee in the next two or three weeks. Remember that this time Assemblywoman Thomson will not be a member of the Committee AB1800 is before.
She and the bill will no longer have home field advantage.
Some times we know this may seem like a game--and sometimes it is--but what is at stake is the well being of thousands. So please, dont let up.
